The Pipetting Methods for Single-Channel Adjustable Pipettes

Here are four Pipetting methods for single-channel adjustable pipettes:

Single-Channel Adjustable Pipettes

1. Forward pipetting method of single-channel adjustable pipettes

  •  Transferred fill a clean reagent container with the solution.
  • Press the button to the stop position
  • Immerse the manual single-channel pipette nozzle 2 to 3 mm below the liquid surface of the container and slowly release the button.
  • After the nozzle sucks the solution, remove the nozzle from the liquid surface and stick it obliquely on the wall of the reagent bottle to drain off the excess.
  • Gently press the operation button to the stop position.
  • Continue to press the operating button down to the second stop after about one second. This action is to drain the solution in the mouth.
  • Release the button to make it return to the starting position of the button.

2. Regression method

The single-channel adjustable pipettes backward method is suitable for the pipetting of high-viscosity liquids or liquids that are prone to foaming. This method is also for the pipetting of very small liquids.

  • Press the button of the single-channel pipettes all the way down to the second stop.
  • Place the pipette tip 2-3 mm below the reagent liquid surface, and then slowly release the button. After the nozzle is full of liquid, withdraw the nozzle from the liquid surface and stick it obliquely on the wall of the reagent bottle to drain off the excess liquid.
  • Gently press the button to the stop position to release the preset liquid. Keep the action button at the most stop position, so that a small amount of liquid not included in the pipetting volume remains in the nozzle.
  • Discarded the liquid remaining in the nozzle together with the nozzle or moved it to the original container.

3. Repeated pipetting method

  • The pipette repeat pipetting method provides quick and easy repeated transfer of the same volume of liquid.
  •  Transferred fill a clean reagent container with the solution.
  • Press the operation button to the second stop position.
  • Place the best single-channel pipette nozzle 2-3 mm below the reagent solution, and then slowly release the operation button.
  • This action draws liquid into the nozzle.
  • After the operation button returns to the starting position, withdraw the nozzle from the liquid level and stick it to the wall of the reagent bottle to drain off the excess liquid.
  • Gently press the button to the stop position to release the preset liquid.
  • And keep the action button at the maximum stop position, so that a small amount of liquid not included in the pipetting volume remains in the nozzle.
  • Repeat steps 2 and 3 to continue the pipetting operation and transferred the same volume of liquid repeatedly.

4. Whole blood pipetting method with single-channel manual adjustable pipette

single-channel pipette uses steps 1 and step 2 of the forward method to make the nozzle aspirate blood. Wipe the blood outside the nozzle with clean, dry tissue.

  • Dip the nozzle into the reagent, then press the button to the stop position. When operating, make sure that immersed the nozzle under the liquid surface.
  • Slowly release the button to make the button return to the starting position.
  • And the nozzle has now aspirated the reagent. Be careful not to let the nozzle leave the liquid surface during operation.
  • Press the button to the stop position, then slowly release the button. Repeat this operation until the liquid inside the nozzle is drained.
  • After the end, press the button to the second stop position to completely drain the liquid in the nozzle.
