How to Properly Disassemble and Assemble Pipettes
While you probably use a pipette every day, you don’t necessarily know how to disassemble it. Today is going to talk about the correct steps to disassemble and install the pipettes.
The correct steps to disassemble and install the pipettes:
- The first step, use a pipette, should take out the pipette tip ejector and put it into the holder;
- In the second step, adjust the capacity value of the pipette to the maximum, and unscrew the connecting nut between the white sleeve and the handle;
- In the third step, with the mouth of the white sleeve facing down, gently lift the handle and put it into the support plate, hold down the tail of the piston, put the white sleeve with the mouth up, put it on the upper part of the piston to support the plate, and take out the piston assembly carefully to avoid loss of parts ;
- In the fourth step, remove the sealing ring from the piston rod or white sleeve and put it into the tray;
- Finally, install the pipette, the steps to install the pipette are reversed to the removal. Note that the black part of the seal faces the white sleeve and the white part faces the handle.
